Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the new owner of an equestrian estate in west Cobb County.
He is one of the world’s highest-paid actors, and a former multiple-champion professional wrestler. “The Rock” is Johnson’s ring name from his former wrestling days. Johnson’s films have grossed over $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
Johnson joins Hollywood stars like Melissa McCarthy who have decided to plant roots in metro Atlanta after filming multiple movies in state. Among Johnson’s Georgia credits are “Fast Five” and “Furious 7,” “Baywatch,” and “Jumani: Welcome to the Jungle.” He recently filmed in the state for Sony’s “Jumanji: The Next Level” and The Walt Disney Co.’s “Jungle Cruise.” He and his ex-wife, film producer Dany Garcia, have also announced a fitness conference in Atlanta in October 2020.
The 14,791-square-foot, 8-bedroom French country style manor home at 1401 Bullard Road includes stone fireplaces, floors of old growth walnut, coffered ceilings of old-growth cypress, according to Realtor.com. The two-story home with attached garage was built in 2003. The 46-acre property includes a 12-stall barn and riding arena with viewing deck, a custom pool and poolhouse, and an 1867 farmhouse that serves as the caretaker’s home, according to Realtor.com.
The property is 15 minutes from the Marietta Square, 20 minutes from The Battery Atlanta and 45 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, 1401 Bullard Road was listed on Oct. 6, 2006 for $10.5 million. It was listed at $9.75 million on Sept. 11, 2018, with no changes until the Oct.11 sale, according to Realtor.com.
The value of 1401 Bullard Road was assessed at $1.92 million in 2019, and appraised at $5.4 million, according to Cobb County tax assessor records.
